Can distance stop two people from being in love?

Cecilie meets Hector in a chat room dedicated to their favorite band. The bond is instant. With humor and light-hearted flirting, it doesn’t take long for them to realize they are each other’s soul mates. The time they chat grows longer,  their feelings deeper. There are just two problems:  the distance between them is 9000 km; and most importantly, Hector is already in a relationship with another woman.

As if that wasn’t enough to cause problems, Hector soon has another secret to expose: he is soon getting married. As Cecilie cuts all ties and desperately tries to move on with her life in Norway, Hector is leading an unhappy life with his new wife in Mexico. With both of them being miserable, can either one find the courage to contact the other one again? Is it even a wise decision to do that? And, with the distance between them, can it actually happen?

The Distance is a bittersweet  love story of two people who have found their soul mate in each other’s face. Although there is a great distance and a lot of hindering circumstances between them, they are drawn to each other no matter how much time passes. As a reader, you grow to love them both – even if Hector seems to be in the wrong, you get to admit his heart is in the right place! In the end, you can’t help but cheer for them to find a way to be together.

The Distance was an interesting, sweet romantic story. The plot was amusing and well constructed. This is an ideal quick read, especially as a summer read! Definitely recommended for fans of romance stories!
